Imperfect is a photographic project that explores scars as part of personal experience, focusing on the ways individuals relate to their own bodies. Rather than seeing scars simply as marks on the skin, the work understands them as traces of moments that have shaped a life.
Through portraiture and first-person narratives, the project brings together a range of experiences of trauma and recovery. Each participant shares their own perspective, keeping their voice at the centre while giving meaning to what is visible.
The project does not present scars as imperfections to be hidden or corrected. Instead, it approaches them as signs of endurance and healing.
